Just wanted to reassure you that "an organized space helps me have an organized mind" is absolutely a brain feature (not a bug). Our brains are influenced by (and influence) our environments in so many ways. We can even see this in the metaphors of our language -- we change "perspectives", adopt another "point of view", have political "left" and "right", have "low moods" or are feeling more "up", etc. etc.

Interestingly, we not only describe thoughts and feelings using environmental metaphors, but physically embodying those metaphors can also shift our feelings and thoughts. So it makes perfect sense that to feel less "cluttered" in one's head, tidying something/anything can help one's head feel more tidy and ordered as well. When we change our location in working on something, our perspective both literally and metaphorically can change to breath fresh life into what we're doing.

Personally, bringing some kind of order to my environment is my number 1 strategy for overwhelm or needed momentum-building.

You can do this! šŸ’—
