Yeah I think so, in a broad sense. I love sci fi because it explores society, philosophy, policy, etc. on top of a protagonists's internal change and struggle. I'm not sure if the plots for any of these movies adhere closely to my book, but definitely the tone/vibes.
Hope the AI angle works for you and your wife, tell me how it goes!
Because "realistic" movies are all gritty and sad and sure, that's a part of life. And it suckable and we should know about it. But you know what else is part of life? Falling in love. It's more common, nearly universal.
Moon is great. It could happen. But you know what DOES happen? Love, Actually
Enjoyable read as always. I particularly loved your use of “blah blah blah” as I use that too. But “it’s giving academic”? I don’t know if you wrote that line ironically, or if Gen Zed slang has actually managed to seep into you.
Speaking of AI, I just want to say how much I LOATHE that recent popular quote that was like “I want AI to do my dishes, not my art”. I actually like doing dishes, I find it therapeutic. But I can’t draw for shit.
Ha! I think Gen Z slang has actually managed to creep into my speaking style. It's wild. I think that "It's giving" one might be the only idiom I picked up though. Also, I can't draw for shit either, I love using the AI image generators.
Are your movie tastes a hint of your novel's content???
My wife and I are literally having this exact movie problem right now and don't why we haven't thought of using AI. Taking your advice this weekend!

You have good taste in movies
Also remind me to tell Tom why romcoms are the most realistic movies
Thank you! Also, I want to know why rom coms are the most realistic movies!

For me, my Gen Zed phrase of choice is “say less”
What a glorious way to use AI!! Great suggestion
Thanks Michelle!
