Thank you for sharing your vulnerability and courage with us! I too had that similar dream until burnout happened and it made the decision for me to quit my corporate job. Thank you for sharing your story so the rest of us with similar stories don't feel alone. Keep shining your light through your writing!

I resonate a lot with your story, Noor! I wanted to be a lawyer once upon a time too because I thought I could "help" people. I never ended up going to law school. But over 15 years later, I'm ready to embrace being a writer. I look forward to learning from your journey!

Great post. I was just talking with someone about the people out there just trying to make a quick buck, rather than offer true value and real assistance. You can absolutely charge for that. It’s the people who are all hype and no substance trying to swindle people is very frustrating. I’ve already run into two of them. Luckily all I lost was time—and even that was too much.

Totally agree, time is so valuable. Glad you saw through the hype and got out!

Your story resonates with mine a lot Noor. Was a poor child of immigrants and education gave me a way out.

But I did the sensible things too - financial services for me instead of law.

Now I'm trying to build a route out to a more creative and fulfilling life helping others where I can. Not easy but worth it I'd say.

Great hero post!

This is so real. I feel like it’s rare for people to be honest about some of these struggles around time, and the privilege that surrounds them. So thank you!

I definitely resonated with what you shared, Noor! I went on my own journey of breaking out of cultural and parental expectations to carve out my own path. I'm truly grateful for my parents' support back then, even though it did take years and quite a bit of convincing. Now getting their full support and encouragement is priceless.

I graduated college with a legal studies degree, and instead of going to law school like my fellow classmates, I told everyone "I'm going to art school!" Of course, that got some weird wtf looks, but that decision made me so much happier.

Even after doing well and achieving success with a graphic design degree, I pivoted even further out and walked away from a well paid, highly coveted corporate job to become an entrepreneur and coach.

We all go through our own journeys, whether it's a straight shot or completing quite a few detours to get to where we are now. It's never too late. It's empowering to have full control of your life to create whatever future you desire.

Thanks for sharing your journey and showing us what's possible, Noor. Your vulnerable story really hit home, and I'm celebrating you and cheering you on!
